A cell bench for use in a cell for ‘Drunken Prisoners’. Complies with the specification of the Police Buildings Design Guide and meets the criteria for maintaining the health and safety of the prisoner.
specification
- Low level seating is constructed from either 45mm thick Iroko hardwood battens or Corian solid surface material bonded to plywood sheet to give a finished thickness of 38mm
- Supporting steel underframe is constructed from RSC legs and 3mm thick mild steel pressed panels, fully rebated all around to prevent passage of contraband
- Anti-ligature perforations are supplied within the top panels which is sloped to prevent climbing
- Underside of bench top is protected from heat generated by the heating pipes with a layer of 6mm thick heat resisting fibreboard
- The hinged panels allowing access to the heating pipes are held firmly shut by two security fixings

- Timber bench top, two coats of water borne varnish
- Corian in white. Other colours available (see below)
- Steelwork has one coat factory applied primer
options
- Ash or Maple battens can be supplied
- Corian supplied from a range of standard colours
- Bench can be supplied any length
- 500mm wide bench for use in Magistrates Courts
- Fixed steel front without perforations for installations without heating.
