CSL0503 Cell Bench

Purpose

  • A cell bench historically used in Police Stations and Magistrates Courts.

Specification

  • Bench top is constructed from either 45mm thick Iroko hardwood battens or from Corian solid surface material bonded to plywood sheet to give a finished thickness of 38mm.
  • Underside of bench top is protected from heat generated by the heating pipes with a layer of 6mm thick heat resisting fibreboard.
  • Supporting steel underframe is constructed from 80mm x 60mm x 6 rolled steel angles and 3mm thick mild steel pressed panels, fully rebated all around to prevent passage of contraband.
  • The two hinged panels allowing access to the heating pipes are held firmly shut by two security fixings.

Finish

  • Timber bench top, two coats of water borne varnish.
  • Corian in white. Other colours available at additional cost.
  • Steelwork has one coat factory applied high build zinc phosphate primer.

Available Options

  • Ash or Maple battens can be supplied.
  • Corian supplied from a range of standard colours.
  • Bench can be supplied any length.
  • 500mm wide bench for use in Magistrates Courts.
  • Fixed steel front without perforations for installations without heating.
